A Contextual Review of the Ghanaian SmallScale Mining
The Ghanaian smallscale mining industry is well over 2,000 years old. Vestiges of alluvial gold extraction and winning activities have been found that date as far back as the sixth century, and there is a wealth of evidence indicating that precious metals recovered from regional artisan activities were attracting Arab traders to certain areas of the country as early as the 7th and 8th
